A Destination Management Company (DMC) is a professional services company that is locally licensed and has its operational offices located in a particular geographical area.A DMC comprises travel experts with extensive local knowledge of all the elements that make for a successful event, conference, or incentive travel program. 

DMCs are regarded as the “general contractor” of meetings and events. Similar to building a home and hiring a contractor to manage, pay, competitively shop, verify insurance, and check references, etc, a DMC performs those services and more for your conference, meeting, party, or special event.

DO YOU CARRY LIABILITY INSURANCE?

Yes, Florida DMC carries extensive commercial liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence, $1,000,000 in personal injury, and $3,000,000 general aggregate insurance. Upon request, DPC will provide its clients a Certificate of Insurance naming its client as an Additional Named Insured

DO YOU CHARGE CRAZY FEES?

​ I understand this may sound unusual, but like most of our clients and the businesses they represent, we need to generate revenue to keep our business running. Let me be transparent: we are a for-profit organization. The money you pay us is not just for the food and beverages we provide or for deciding where the bar should be or for approving vendor contracts. The cost you pay for our services is local expertise, professional representation, insurance coverage, being up to date on the latest contract languages, and using the best technical platforms to create a visual representation of our ideas. This helps you present your ideas with confidence.

WHAT EXACTLY IS A DMC PRODUCT? 

Our knowledge is our product. We have extensive experience working with the best vendors and know which ones to avoid. Our product is our experience. I always reassure our clients that we have been working for them long before they even knew us. Our team has been producing and managing events and programs for several decades, allowing us to repeat successful strategies and learn from mistakes to avoid future issues. Our product is peace of mind. Our clients have many responsibilities and should not worry about a Plan B. We plan for contingencies and have solutions ready in case things do not go according to plan.

WILL YOU USE OUR BUDGET TO YOUR OWN ADVANTAGE?

​Some clients may hesitate to share their true budgets with us, fearing that we will simply use that number as an end price. However, we want to assure you that we always strive to make the most of your budget and use every dollar to make your event the best it can be. We are willing to go the extra mile and provide a little more from our own resources, just to ensure that we can bring your vision to life. Our goal is to create an event that is as successful and impactful as you want it to be. And if we get a picture-perfect photo for our Instagram page, that would be a bonus!

WOULDN'T IT BE EASIER TO GO DIRECT?

Working with a DMC keeps planning streamlined and more organized because you’re only working directly with one partner, saving you time on research, planning, and logistics.

While you can scour the Internet and do your own research, by the time you find a potential supplier and reach out for more information, a DMC could already have a contract for you to review. Once the local suppliers are selected, the DMC handles the logistics, saving you the time of multiple meetings and back-and-forth emails and phone calls. (That’s not to say you won’t have meetings and emails and calls—they’ll just be with one contact instead of multiple.)

Even after the event, financial reconciliation is faster and easier because you only have to pay the DMC instead of each individual supplier.
